Creativity

what is creativity? (in my own words)

i believe that creativity is a way of thinking in a different manner, and creating something from nothing but ideas.

the real definition

Creativity is a phenomenon whereby something new and somehow valuable is formed.

similarities - the use of something is made which is new.
differences - something valuable. i don't agree with this because the defining of "valuable" is interpreted in many different ways from different people.

in my opinion, i believe that the official definition is better because it correctly describes that it is a formation of something and hasn't spontaneously appeared.

 Creativity and originality

i do not agree with this quote because many imitations are sometimes better than the real this. also, this can start a market for a similar type of product, like apple's ipad which started a tablet market which is now huge.

side by side, these two album covers look very similar. this can be to bring a similar audience on board or just to imitate and mock the other person.

colourbleed

i find the film colourbleed to be very interesting, in the way it has been filmed. many close up shots are used to hide the actual real outcome until the end, which to me sets the scene as a dull and cold place very well.

at the end, the child dressed in bright clothing to keep warm is a very soothing ending, but is contradicted by the mother who is rushing to leave and being "unoriginal" in some cases.

not much vocals are in the film, apart from a quiet background music which sets the scene very well.

the main character helps us understand the short film a tiny bit more, her bright tattoos and bright hair automatically makes us think that she is trying to change the way people live in the city/town.

overall, the concept is very original and seems to be very creative in a sense, but doesn't furfill the official definition as being creative. in some cases, this could be valuable, but in a normal world, this is just a sort film.

be creative

as an avid fan of sesame street, i have decided that it is probably the most creative thing on the planet, so i have came up with my own lyrics for the theme song

sesame street (my version)

creative
making a, nice mosaique
or maybe, making a music piece

you can't tell me how to be
how to be so creative

original
please do not, copy this
originality is key for this

now i'll show you how to be
how to be so creative

start from scratch
look for some, good ideas
no-one thinks like you and that is sweet!
now you can be as creative as
elmo from sesame street
oscar from sesame street
big bird from sesame street.

for the added enjoyment

this is what i believe to be the most genuine definition of creativity.

album cover analysis - Gorrilaz-Gorrilaz

The use of made up characters is a great example for the hip hop genre. The band have created a set of characters to show how they want to be seen.

The graffiti is conventional for the hip hop genre.

A track list is shown so the audience knows what they are doing.

A white background draws attention to the band.

A red logo is bright and makes the audience understand who the band is.

A parental advisory picture shows who the target audience actually is.

The diversity of the characters shows that the band can be for anyone.

Thrplain front cover could suggest the band is easy to understand (conventional)

Controversy involving lady gaga

Lady Gaga Covered In Blood During Live Shows

Lady Gaga's massive 'Monster Ball' tour was not without its controversial moments, including one section of the concert where Lady Gaga smeared blood over herself.
effect on her career = Lady gagas audience understand that she goes out of her way to shock people. this keeps people engaged and wanting to know why. however, religious people may be offended and may begin to realize how different he is to others.

Lady Gagas music style

Continually experimenting with new musical ideas and images, Gaga's musical and performance style is the subject of much analysis and scrutiny from critics. She professes that she is "liberating" herself by constantly reinventing her sound and image, insisting that she has been drawn to such a practice since her childhood. Vocally, Gaga exhibits "overwhelming expression, instinctive vocal phrasing while being able to move through 2.7 octaves. Refusing to lip sync, Gaga – whose range is frequently compared to those of Madonna and Gwen Stefani – has manipulated her vocal style over the course of her career yet considers Born This Way "much more vocally up to par with what I've always been capable of." In summation of her voice, Entertainment Weekly wrote, "There's an immense emotional intelligence behind the way she uses her voice. Almost never does she overwhelm a song with her vocal ability, recognizing instead that artistry is to be found in nuance rather than lung power.

Early career of Lady Gaga

In 2005, Lady Gaga was briefly signed by Def Jam Records, but was dropped just months later. Being dropped by the label propelled the singer to perform on her own in clubs and venues on New York City's Lower East Side. There, she collaborated with several rock bands, and began her experimentation with fashion.
In 2007, at the age of 20, Gaga began work at Interscope Records as a songwriter for other artists on the label, including Britney Spears, New Kids on the Block, and The Pussycat Dolls. R&B singer Akon discovered Gaga while she was performing a burlesque show that she created, called "Lady Gaga and the Starlight Revue." Impressed, Akon signed the performer to his label under the Interscope umbrella, Kon Live. Through 2007 and 2008, Gaga wrote and recorded her debut album, The Fame. The record was received positive reviews and popular success in the United States. With the help of her own creative team, "Haus of Gaga," the performer also began to make a name for herself internationally.

Lady Gaga's debut single, "Just Dance," was released to radio in early 2008, and received both popular and commercial acclaim. The song was then nominated for a Grammy Award in 2008. The song lost to Daft Punk's "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger," but this didn't keep Gaga from reaching No. 1 on the mainstream pop charts in January 2009. The second single off of The Fame, "Poker Face," earned Gaga even more success. The song topped singles charts in almost every category, and in almost every country. Both songs were produced by Akon's affiliate RedOne, who co-wrote most of Lady Gaga's album.

Early life of Lady Gaga

Stefani Germanotta (born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta), who performs under the stage name Lady Gaga, was born on March 28, 1986 at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, New York, the eldest child of Joseph and cynthia Germanotta. She is mostly of Italian heritage with some French ancestry on her mother's side. She has a younger sister of six years, Natali. Around the age of four, Stefani started to learn piano by ear and after a while, wrote her first song called "Dollar Bills
".From age eleven she attended the Convent of the Sacred Heart, a private all-girls Roman Catholic school on Manhattan's Upper East Side. She described her academic life in high school as "very dedicated, very studious, very disciplined" but also "a bit insecure"
